This installation was created as part of IMABARI Color Show, an exhibition introducing the dyeing traditions of Imabari.
Emmanuelle has participated in the exhibition since its inception in 2017, presenting “1000 COLORS RECIPE” in the first edition, followed by “1000 COLORS WAVE” in 2019 and 2020.
For the fifth edition, the Imabari shopping arcade itself became the exhibition venue.
Collaborating with the Ehime Prefecture Textile Dyeing Industry Association, specially dyed fabric lengths—each approximately 3.5 meters in length—were produced exclusively for this work.
Suspended from above, the fabrics respond gently to the wind, swaying and shifting in space.
The colors appear to float, overlap, and move, transforming the arcade with a subtle yet powerful rhythm.
What was once a quiet, static street is reanimated through color and motion, becoming a vivid and breathing landscape within everyday life.
